📝 Description
This presentation features Davey Smith, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Clinical and Translational Research at UCSD, discussing the UCSD "Last Gift" program. This research initiative focuses on collaborating with individuals living with HIV near the end of life to conduct detailed post-mortem organ studies. The methodology aims to advance understanding and potential treatments for HIV/AIDS research, while also providing opportunities to investigate other complex conditions. These include various cancers, as well as neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, alongside heart and lung diseases.
The lecture, originally held on December 19th, includes a question and answer session for both in-person and live stream participants, followed by a reception for those attending on site. The proceedings were hosted by PSW Science.
