IPD 2025 Roundtable discussion

A roundtable discussion addressing the emerging challenges and opportunities within the global pathology workforce, recorded during IPD 2025. The session was chaired by Professor Marta Cohen, Vice President for Learning at the Royal College of Pathologists, UK. Panel members included healthcare and academic leaders such as Ms Elisabetta Zanon (CEO, European Cancer Organisation), Dr Jan von der Thüsen (Erasmus MC, The Netherlands), and Professor Priyani Amarathunga (University of Colombo, Sri Lanka).

The discussion featured diverse perspectives on strengthening the pathology field internationally. Other participants included Mr Russell Dacombe (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK) and Professor Xavier Matias-Guiu (President of the European Society of Pathology). The focus was collaborative strategies for addressing current workforce needs in pathology.
