The footage documents the aftermath of the Deutschlandsberg bus accident which occurred on January 24, 1999, near Deutschlandsberg, Austria. A bus transporting Hungarian skiers returning from the first day of a ski trip overturned on a downhill section. Reports indicate that the Neoplan bus experienced brake failure, leading to uncontrolled acceleration before it veered into a ditch, spun, and overturned.
The victims were primarily students, parents, and teachers traveling from Kőszeg and Szombathely, Hungary. The tragedy resulted in 18 fatalities and 28 serious injuries among the passengers on the bus.
