📝 Description
Zacatlán de las Manzanas, often referred to by its nickname due to the significant apple cultivation in the region, is officially recognized by the Mexican Secretariat of Tourism as a Pueblo Mágico. Located in the northwest of Puebla, this municipality is economically centered around horticulture. The local gastronomy features apple products prominently, including ciders and apple wines. Other notable regional foods include pan de queso and tlatloyos, a specific variation of tlacoyos.
The central area of Zacatlán displays several significant architectural and civic landmarks. These include a prominent kiosk with an apple-shaped statue, the historic Ex-Convento Franciscano, and the Parish of San Pedro and San Pablo, dating back to the late 17th century. A unique feature is the Floral Clock, cited as the only one of its kind. Zacatlán is also part of the "Rodando Rutas Mágicas" initiative, making it a notable stop for travelers interested in Mexican magical towns.
