The life and achievements of Nezahualcoyotl, the ruler of Texcoco beginning in 1431, who significantly influenced the Triple Alliance, often referred to as the Aztec Empire. After experiencing personal trauma and exile in his youth, Nezahualcoyotl established Texcoco as an intellectual center. His major contributions included designing a functional aqueduct system that supplied fresh water to Tenochtitlan, a system that continues to impact Mexico City's current water infrastructure. He also authored a legal code containing 80 laws and fostered a state-funded professional class for artists and poets.
