📝 Description
Following a stabbing attack in Belfast, disorder erupted in parts of the city, including the setting on fire of a public transport vehicle on the Newtownards Road. A 30-year-old Sudanese man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in connection with the incident, and he is scheduled to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court. The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained serious injuries to his face, back, and eye. Political leaders and police commanders have publicly appealed for calm amid reports of anti-immigration protests across Northern Ireland following the knife attack earlier in the week.
Political commentator Sebastian Salek and Conservative councillor Matthew Goodwin-Freeman joined Peter Cardwell to discuss the developing situation and the widespread reaction to the assault.
